Ana Vasconcelos (Mozambique, 1971) is architect, in the Lisbon School of Architecture at the
Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, and PhD at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de
Madrid - Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSAM-UPM); with a postgraduate degree in
Arquitetura da Habitação (1999, FA-UTL) and in Estudios Avanzados en el Área de Proyectos
Arquitectónicos (2004, ETSAM-UPM). Researcher in Research Center of Architecture, Urbanism
and Design (CIAUD) at the Lisbon School of Architecture-Universidade de Lisboa (FA-ULisboa).
Architecture (theory and practice on architectural design) is her principal scientific work and
investigation's field, in conjunction with art and other fields of culture. Currently she works and
researches in the following research theme The in-between space in contemporary architecture
and art field. She has taken part in national and international conferences and congresses and has
been a member of various scientific committees. As an author and co-author, she has published
several articles and book chapters in university and others institutions’ editions.
